What personal information do we collect about you?
We collect personal information from you when you provide it to us directly, when you use our Website and services and in the course of providing services to you, including estate agency, conveyancing and mortgage services. This information may include:Information you provide to us:when you submit your details via our Website, such as your name, email address, phone number; when submitting an application for a mortgage (for example, details of your finances) Information regarding your credit rating and credit history that you give us permission to access from credit reference agencies if you want to proceed with your application; Transaction data from your bank account(s) that is made available to us as part of your application. This data is provided via our Open Banking partner so we can assess your ability to afford the mortgages you’re applying for;Records of your interactions with Even. We record telephone calls made to and from Even for quality control and training purposes;Information, including identity documents, you provide to us or our service providers to carry out Know Your Customer and anti-money laundering checks required by law; and Technical information, including your IP address, and a record of your interactions with our Website.
What do we use this personal information for?
Depending on how you use our Website, your interactions with us, and the permissions you give us, the purposes for which we use your personal information include: Providing you with services, such as mortgage lending and to allow us to accurately value your proposed purchase and verify your ownership of relevant properties; Assessing your suitability for the mortgages you’re proposing to borrow to facilitate your proposed purchase; Managing our exposure to risk; Fulfilling requests submitted via the Website and maintaining your account; Carrying out our obligations, and exercising our rights, under any contract you enter into with us, including mortgage contracts; Personalising the Website and displaying content we think you will be most interested in, based on your account information and your history on our Website; Understanding how our products and services are being used, analysing the performance of our products and services, and maintaining and updating our Website; Sending you marketing messages and showing you targeted advertising, where we have your consent or are otherwise permitted to do so; Complying with our security, legal, finance and regulatory obligations including prevention of fraud, auditing, reporting and money laundering risk.

Credit Reference Agencies
In order to process your application, we will perform credit and identity checks on you with one or more Credit Reference Agencies (CRAs). We may also carry out further periodic searches at CRA’s to allow us to manage your account with us. To do this, we will supply your personal information to CRAs. This will include your name, date of birth and residential address. It may also include additional information such as your salary, previous residential addresses and other information you provide as part of your credit application. The CRAs will match this information to the records they hold about you, and provide in return, both public information (including the electoral register) and shared credit information in relation to your financial situation and financial history. CRA’s will supply to us both public (including the electoral register) and shared credit, financial situation and financial history information and fraud prevention information.We will use this information to:assess your creditworthiness and whether you can afford to take the product; verify the accuracy of the data you have provided to us; prevent criminal activity, e.g fraud and money laundering; manage your account(s);trace and recover any debts; and ensure any offers provided to you are appropriate to your circumstances. We will continue to exchange information about you with CRA’s while you have a relationship with us. We will also inform the CRA’s about your settled accounts. If you borrow and do not repay in full or on time, CRA’s will record the outstanding debt. This information may be supplied to other organisations by CRA’s. When CRA’s receive a search from us they will place a search footprint on your credit file that may be seen by other lenders. If you are making a joint application, or tell us that you have a spouse of a financial associate, we will link your records together, so you should make sure you discuss this with them, and share with them this information, before lodging the application. CRA’s will also link your records together and these links will remain on your and their files until such time as you or your partner successfully files for a disassociation with the CRA’s to break the link. Who do we share this personal information with?
We share users’ personal information with third parties in the following circumstances:With service providers when necessary to provide us with a service, such as technical service providers; With our professional and legal advisors, business partners and finance providers and, where necessary, their professional advisors; Where necessary, we will provide your details and those of the other party to your transactions to your property solicitors, and solicitors of the other party to your transaction; With third parties engaged in fraud prevention and detection; Mortgage brokers and conveyancing solicitors, where we have your permission to do so; With law enforcement or other governmental authorities, in response to a lawful request or court order; With credit reference agencies who may keep a record of the information, and may disclose the information, and the fact that a credit search was made, to their other customers for the purpose of assessing the risk of giving credit, for account management, to trace debtors and for the prevention of fraud and money laundering, as further described in the Credit Reference Agency section above; If we are involved in a merger or sale of any business assets, or the securitisation of any of our mortgage products, the personal information of our users may be disclosed to a potential buyer and/or funding partner or purchaser of securitised assets. If so, we will make reasonable attempts to ensure the recipient will be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy; If we, for regulatory or legal reasons, are required to transfer the legal title of any mortgage loans and/or the related personal data of our users to the funder or their appointed transferee; and Otherwise where we have your consent or are otherwise legally permitted to do so.
Storage and Deletion
Our Website is hosted by Google which has servers based around the world, and we may use other international service providers. Consequently, your personal information may be processed in countries outside of Europe, including in countries where you have fewer legal rights in respect of your data than you do under local law. Where we transfer personal information outside the European Economic Area we will, as required by applicable law, ensure that your privacy rights are adequately protected by appropriate safeguards, including by using the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Privacy Shield.
